Work Experience

Until last year, I taught economics, economic policy and statistics at the Department of Policy Analysis and Management (formerly, Consumer Economics and Housing) at Cornell University. In addition to the usual fare, I was instrumental in introducing interactive technologies to a number of large economics classes. Also, I did a lot of innovative programming on various Medicare related projects.

I am also one of the founding members of the Program on Freedom and Free Societies at Cornell.

Before coming to the U.S., I worked at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Turkey and at the METU Economics Department. I was also a translator for the TRT-CTW production of Sesame Street in Turkish and a guide and translator for the TRT 23rd April Children's Festival in Turkey. I also did some computer programming, book editing and various translation jobs while in college.

I was a member of the METU Drama Club and the METU Water Polo Team. These days, I am trying to learn horseback riding.
